12 Dec 2025 BEVA

Our Education Committee have approved the upcoming Rossdales' Musculoskeletal Ultrasound course which offers equine vets the opportunity to enhance their imaging skills. Course bookings are now open, with BEVA members eligible for a discounted rate.

The course provides an in-depth look at musculoskeletal ultrasound, covering how it works, what “normal” images look like and typical ultrasonographical findings following intrinsic or traumatic injury.

Practical experience is a focus, with 12 hours of hands-on scanning time. Delegates will work with high-quality machines, scanning both normal and pathological cases to build practical skills they can apply in everyday practice.

The course will be delivered by leading experts in equine orthopaedics including Sarah Boys Smith, Eddy Cauvin, Mariana Castro Martins, David Stack and Roger Smith.

James Crabtree, Chair of the BEVA Education Committee said: "We're very pleased to approve the Musculoskeletal Ultrasound course for its high-quality and clinically relevant content. While it is not a BEVA-delivered course, the standard of teaching and practical application aligns closely with what we strive to champion through our own CPD programme. It sits well alongside the 2026 BEVA CPD programme and offers another valuable opportunity for vets looking to strengthen their musculoskeletal imaging skills."

BEVA members benefit from a preferential rate of £1296, while non-members are charged £1470.
