About the course
This BEVA-approved course provides a thorough overview of musculoskeletal ultrasonography and is suitable for delegates who wish to improve their ultrasound diagnostic skills and learn more about this diagnostic tool from a panel of eminent veterinary surgeons who are renowned in their respective fields of expertise. It covers the ultrasonographic principles, the normal ultrasonographical appearance of the musculoskeletal structures and the ultrasonographical findings following intrinsic and traumatic injury.
Detailed and comprehensive information is provided in both lectures and small group practical sessions. The normal anatomy of the metacarpal and metatarsal region will be covered, and specifically the superficial digital flexor tendon, deep digital flexor tendon, inferior check ligament and suspensory ligament injuries, as well as injuries to the palmar or plantar pastern region and its normal ultrasonography. Other areas that will be covered include the ultrasonography of tendon sheaths and bursae, and imaging of joints including the stifles, hock, carpus and fetlock joints. Ultrasonography of the foot, neck, back and pelvis will also be included, as will ultrasonographic imaging of traumatic injuries, foreign bodies and sepsis.
Practical session
A rare opportunity to gain 12 hours real life hands-on experience in our practical sessions with small groups using high quality machines will cover the normal ultrasonography of various areas as well as a number of pathological conditions from the metacarpal region, metatarsal region, palmar and plantar pasterns, back, pelvis and various joints.
