Successful reproductive care involves disease control, ultrasound scanning, the detection and treatment of any problems and pregnancy diagnosis. Only a qualified Veterinary Surgeon can provide this full service. The BEVA Approved AI List features veterinary practices that have met BEVA's high standards. We recommend and promote the practices included on the BEVA Approved AI List to maximise the mare's chances of delivering a healthy foal.

About the BEVA Approved AI List

Our approved AI List aims to support members of the profession who work in equine reproduction whilst safeguarding the welfare of the horse. Only those who meet our high standards are included on the list and practices are reviewed annually.

Frequently Asked Questions

To be a BEVA Approved AI practice, veterinary surgeons must show that they have a sound understanding of artificial insemination and that they continue to stay up to date with developments in the field. To ensure they do this BEVA organises several relevant CPD courses every year and individuals must attend at least one of these every four years.
