Sustainability policy

At BEVA we are committed to encouraging a sustainable, safe, and healthy work environment for all employees and volunteers, and to delivering our products and services in a sustainable way.

Key aspects that contribute to our environmental and carbon footprint
  • Consumption of electricity, gas, water and other fuels
  • Transport emissions
  • Procured goods and services with their own environmental impact
  • Delivery of our products and services
Our objectives and goals
  • Compliance with all applicable standards, laws, requirements, regulations and public/customer expectation
  • Monitor with our key resource usage and implementing conversation techniques to achieve our environmental targets
  • Use our platform to influence and encourage members of the profession to be mindful of their impact on the environment
  • Implement a digital first approach including transitioning our membership to an online model and using paperless registration for BEVA events
  • Implement a waste/recycling policy
  • Minimise unsustainable transport through the development of a travel plan
  • Work with suppliers to ensure they acknowledge and decrease the environmental impact of their products and transportation
Developing and sharing our policy

We will continue to improve our environmental management system by working to the Investors in the Environment (iiE) criteria, considering any changes in legislation, our organisation, and other factors. We will convey this policy to all our employees ensuring that they are provided with training to increase awareness of environmental matters.

Sustainable procurement policy

We are committed to understanding and managing the environmental, economic and social impacts of our operations through the delivery of sustainable solutions. We recognise we play a role in protecting communities and the environment now and for the future.

The policy seeks to embed the consideration of social, environmental and economic impacts as factors in decisions made by staff and our partners.
