Looking to thrive and grow professionally in a friendly, supportive and progressive environment? Then look no further!

We are seeking a full-time equine vet for ambulatory work, based at our Cowbridge clinic. You will be a key part of Wales’ first and only RCVS accredited equine hospital-backed team, delivering independent veterinary care at the highest level.

We are looking for:

A friendly, like-minded and motivated individual to join our team.

The successful candidate will be based at our practice in Cowbridge; one of our three clinics along the South Wales corridor. You will have the full support of the other experienced ambulatory vets within the team, as well as European-boarded specialists in both surgery and internal medicine based at our RCVS accredited Tier-3 Hospital in Narberth. They run regular specialist clinics in Cowbridge and are always available on the phone to back you up. Regular journal club and M&M meetings contribute positively to our open and supportive ethos, and we equally encourage clinical freedom and case continuity. For more recent graduates we offer an ambulatory training programme, giving structure to personal clinical development.

We provide a prompt, professional and comprehensive service for our clients, whilst remaining approachable and friendly. We provide the support for personal growth and fulfilment; fund and encourage CPD and continually re-invest in personnel and equipment to provide the very best experience for both our vets and clients. As the practice continues to expand, we are currently developing our Cowbridge facilities to include a new, purpose-built CT scanner.

Our remuneration pay-scale rewards both experience and length of service with Cotts, with bonuses for certificate holders and previous internships together, with a generous benefits package.

Our client base is very diverse and friendly, allowing personal interests to be explored and expanded. We provide veterinary cover for Ffos Las racecourse and a number of Point-To-Points therefore registration with ARVS and completion of the CMS, or an interest in doing so, would be beneficial and several of our vets are FEI accredited PTVs, officiating at International Shows.

We provide:

  • Salary range of £30,000 - £55,000 depending on experience. Annual increase in a transparent calculation.
  • Cotts pool car plus expenses, or £3k car allowance pa plus work mileage.
  • All employees are part of our matrix bonus scheme (to the value of an additional £4000 per annum) rewarding turnover, but weighted towards other core value skills, such as working well within the team and excellent client care.
  • Pension scheme
  • Working hours Monday to Friday 8.30am to 5.30pm
  • 1 in 5 out-of-hours rota with 2 lieu days for every weekend worked - the Thursday before and the Friday following a weekend on call.
  • 30.5 days holiday including bank holidays.
  • VDS, RCVS and BEVA subscriptions fully paid.
  • Mobile phone and iPad supplied for full use.
  • WPA private healthcare package and company sick pay policy.
  • CPD allowance of £1500 per annum.
  • Full funding and support for certificates if desired.
  • ARVS membership when applicable.
  • Membership of the Cycle to Work scheme providing significant savings on cycling equipment.
  • Membership of the Tech scheme providing significant savings on the latest technology and extended warranty.
