Experienced Equine Veterinary Surgeon

One of our lovely vets is moo-ving over to the farm side of the profession so we are seeking a full time experienced equine veterinary surgeon to join our independent 7 vet equine ambulatory practice based between Selby and Leeds in the heart of Yorkshire.

We are a close-knit, friendly team with a strong ethos centered on supporting each other, client care, personal progression and achieving the elusive work life balance. We have an excellent client base of largely leisure horses with some competition/reproduction work. A large proportion of our clients are insured and relatively low maintenance who appreciate our hard work. We aim to offer high standards of veterinary care in an ambulatory environment.

We have clinic facilities with stables, treatment rooms, stocks and all the usual equipment along with fantastic grooms to assist with procedures. We hold daily morning rounds to discuss clinical cases in a no-pressure environment to assist with continued progression of each team member and aid our communication.

We work a 4.5 day week structured as 1 full day off every other week, the on call rota is 1:10-1:12 with a long weekend before and after. 6 weeks holiday plus some bank holidays (they are shared evenly) along with RCVS/BEVA/VDS membership paid for and a generous CPD budget including funding for a certificate which is encouraged. Work vehicle is also provided.

We’re looking for someone with at least one years experience. Part time and flexible ways of working can be accommodated where possible. Salary is commensurate with experience.

Please contact clinical director Jenny Staddon on 07771 332626 for further information or informal discussions regarding the job. Applications should be submitted to jennystaddon@hotmail.com with a CV and cover letter. All applications received in the strictest confidence.
