The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) is inviting veterinary professionals who are navigating career transitions to attend its upcoming Next Steps events as part of its new Next Steps project.
The project aims to develop a range of resources as well as run dedicated in-person events to help support professional transitions in three key areas. Events will be taking place for each professional transition topic at the RCVS’s offices in London, on the following dates:
- Returning parents – Tuesday 12 May, 10am to 4pm
- Returning after a career break – Thursday 21 May, 10am to 4pm
- Moving into management – Thursday 18 June, 10am to 4.30pm
Each CPD event will combine practical guidance, peer support, professional networking, and specialist coaching from careers experts to support delegates in taking achievable steps to transition back into practice life or to move into their first managerial role.
Tash Goodwin Roberts, RCVS Projects Implementation Manager, said: "Navigating change can be exciting, but it doesn’t come without challenges. Our Next Steps project is designed to make those transitions as smooth as possible, to make sure you feel confident in reconnecting with your professional identity and taking that leap back into work or, in the case of management, moving into a new type of work.
"This project is an important part of our ongoing work to strengthen the veterinary workforce, and our events will create a collaborative space for discussions, allowing delegates to share experiences, build a supportive network, identify key challenges and explore solutions to common obstacles together."
Tickets are available at an early bird rate of £50 per person for those who book six weeks or more in advance of their chosen event. For those who book less than six weeks ahead, tickets will cost £80 per person. Lunch and refreshments will be provided, and all events count towards your CPD.
