Race day treatment of horses

 

I would like to remind all members who are involved in the management of horses which race under the HRA Rules of Racing that Instruction C9 states “With the exception of normal feed and water by mouth, no substance should be given to any horse at any time on the day of a race by injection, orally or any other method …”.  Please ensure, when in doubt, that you check with the trainer whether the horse is due to run before administering products to horses in training.
