About the Course
Henry Tremaine's Modern Equine Dentistry course has always been the practical course for vets wanting to upgrade their dental skills. This 2019 course is revised, refreshed and better than ever...
The course will include a day of lectures that leads the attendees through recent advances in knowledge and application of dental anatomy and pathology, a measured approach to dental examination and a review of equipment and techniques currently available for treating equine dental disease in typical ambulatory practice.
Small group interactive case-based teaching with problem solving will ensue, including the how to acquire and interpret of diagnostic quality radiographs. There follows a full day of practicals comprising: cadaver-based studies, with oroscopic examination, oral examination and treatment planning, equipment selection and practicing techniques with live horses under controlled conditions.
The tutors are widely experienced in higher education teaching and performing dental procedures to a high level, continuous interaction is encouraged and include specialists in dentistry diagnostic imaging and surgery. A course meal is intrinsic to the course and is included in the price.
Delegates should bring their own protective clothing, headlight, plus any instrumentation they wish to practice with (not obligatory). Industry partners will be available and present to discuss equipment and how to service and use it.
