Vet

Oxford Equine Vets is an exciting, rapidly growing veterinary practice dedicated to the care and treatment of performance horses. Located in the picturesque village of Marsh Gibbon, Oxfordshire, we offer ambulatory care to the surrounding counties.

Our mission is to provide tailored care to exceptional horses. We are fully independent allowing us full autonomy to provide the very best service and care to our clients.

Our caseload is exceptionally varied, with racehorses, eventers, dressage, showing, showjumpers and a niche in heavy working horses. We treat every horse as if they were our own.

We are a 2 vet, 2 assistant practice, looking to recruit an additional veterinary surgeon to our close-knit, joyful team. The practice is equipped with a fantastic espresso machine.

Role Description

Everyday will be completely different! If the idea of scoping racehorses one day and ultrasounding a Shire the next is up your street, then we are the practice for you!

This is a full-time (part-time considered) role working out of our modern offices in Marsh Gibbon, Oxfordshire. We treat all our horses in an ambulatory capacity with partner yards if required. We refer to Rossdales or Donnington Grove, both of whom we have an excellent relationship with, if further care is required.

The ideal candidate should be proficient in all performance horse diagnostics and treatments: radiography, ultrasonography, gastroscopy, endoscopy, joint medications and reproductive work.

Your practice car will come fully equipped with everything you need to accurately diagnose and treat on the road. We pride ourselves on having equipment always on hand as you never know what you might find!

Our working day is 9-5pm, with a 1:5 OOH rota (entirely in-house) - backed up with a 2nd on call if needed. Our clients are very well trained with minimal OOH work.
