Wright and Morten Equine Vets, based in Cheshire are a well-established 9 vet team proving a broad range of ambulatory and clinic-based services for our clients.

We have a vacancy from mid-May due a vet who has been with us since a new graduate (2018), moving to an exciting clinician role at a referral hospital.

We are seeking to recruit a veterinary surgeon with minimum 2 years’ experience. Finding someone who is the right fit is especially important to us as we flourish in our close- knit supportive team.

What are we looking for?

- Minimum 2 years experienced

- Confident with all routine and ambulatory emergency work

- Participation on the OOH rota on a 1 in 6 basis is preferred. 

- We will consider part time at a minimum of 3 days a week.

- Interest in equine medicine a bonus

- Incredibly good work- life balance with working hours 8:30am-5:30pm but routine work often complete by 5pm

- Generous time off for weekends worked (5 days for 2 weekends)

- You will enjoy clinical freedom with support from both our clinic based and ambulatory teams.

- We are proud to include multiple certificate holders in Equine Orthopaedics, Equine Dentistry and Equine Lameness who can offer support with working up your own cases as needed.

- Clinic facilities for inpatient care, elective surgery, in-house laboratory, and all the kit for extensive diagnostics and rehabilitation work.  As importantly, a brew and a biscuit whenever it is needed.

- Opportunity for anaesthesia for the right candidate but this is not essential

- A lovely client base of leisure and sports horses with a good proportion of insured clients.

- Full range of additional diagnostic kit for ambulatory use

- Incredible nursing team who assist vets in clinic and on yard as well as performing their own extensive range of duties.
