Lead Equine Vet - Sport and Leisure horses

Position: Full-Time

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Join an independent ambulatory practice with hospital back up.

Newmarket Equine Hospital (NEH) is seeking an experienced equine vet to lead and develop our ambulatory sport and leisure horse department.

This is a unique opportunity for a forward-thinking clinician to take on a thriving caseload, covering a wide variety of sport horses, leisure horses and everything in between. The sport and leisure horse department makes up part of the the ambulatory team of vets who all work closely with the full support of specialist clinicians in the hospital.

About the role:

• Lead and develop the sport and leisure horse department with strategic input and clinical excellence.

• Provide high-quality ambulatory care for a varied client base.

• Develop strong relationships with clients, colleagues and industry professionals.

What we’re looking for:

• Ideally a minimum of 5 years’ experience.

• Excellent clinical and diagnostic skills, with a confident approach to lameness and performance issues.

• Strong leadership qualities and an ability to work well both as an individual and as a team.

• An interest in business development and service innovation.

• Strong communications skills with clients, vets, nurses and staff.

• MRCVS (or eligibility for registration with the RCVS).
