Our internship program at Endell Equine Hospital offers an opportunity for a new/recently graduated vet, intending to pursue either a residency or a career in equine practice. Interns are expected to become competent in diagnostic imaging, medical investigations, general anaesthesia (supported by a specialist anaesthetist every 3-4 months), orthopaedic investigations, colic, and critical care. During the stud season, interns assist with inpatient AI mare scanning and ovulation checks. There is also the opportunity to gain in-house laboratory experience in our highly capable on-site lab. They are encouraged to provide goals for skills they would like to achieve during their year, so these can be accomplished. Further education is encouraged, with on-site activities including vet clinical club, M&M rounds and monthly tutorials.

Based in the Salisbury area for over 100 years, our RCVS Tier 3 hospital is well-established and has excellent spacious facilities. Resources include standing MRI, digital radiography, ultrasonography, endoscopy including gastroscopy and overground upper airway endoscopy, nuclear scintigraphy, fully equipped surgical theatre with separate induction and recovery boxes, anaesthesia monitors and ventilator, standing surgery, laser (surgical and therapeutic), Equigait lameness locator, purpose built dental stocks, electrochemotherapy, isolation and intensive care.
