About us

At Kessock Equine Vets, you’ll join a progressive, first-opinion and local referral equine practice set within a purpose-built, well-equipped clinical environment designed to support both exceptional patient care and professional development. You’ll become part of a supportive and collaborative team of 5 Veterinary Surgeons, an Equine Veterinary Nurse, experienced stable staff, and dedicated office support. We also work closely with a visiting certificate holder and colleagues currently undertaking further qualifications in dentistry and internal medicine, creating a culture where learning, teamwork, and community involvement are genuinely valued.

Our modern facilities include advanced diagnostic and treatment capabilities such as video endoscopy, gastroscopy, ultrasound, and digital X-ray, alongside an outdoor arena, dedicated trot-up area, stocks, and a fully equipped treatment room. We also offer overnight stabling and paddocks, ensuring our equine patients receive continuity of care in a calm, supportive setting.

Located along the iconic North Coast 500 and within easy reach of Inverness Airport, our practice offers the perfect balance between professional opportunity and lifestyle. With the Cairngorms just 40 minutes away, the area is ideal for those who enjoy outdoor pursuits such as hiking, skiing, sailing, and exploring the Scottish Highlands.

Applicant Requirements

RCVS registered with equine experience and proven capabilities in lameness work ups, pre-purchase examinations, routine minor surgical procedures and castrations. Training and mentoring of other team members would also be a part of the role, so applicants should be happy to be involved with the development of their colleagues. We are prepared to be flexible and will consider someone who wants a leadership role or someone who still needs to develop some of their skills. We are also prepared to consider part-time hours for the right candidate.
