Equine Veterinary Surgeon and Welfare Officer – Guards Polo Club (2026 Season)
Guards Polo Club, established in 1955 in Windsor Great Park by its founding President, the late HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, is widely regarded as the most prestigious polo club in the world.
The Club is seeking an equine veterinary surgeon to join the team for the 2026 polo season in the role of Club Veterinary Surgeon and Welfare Officer.
The position is focused primarily on providing veterinary cover at polo matches throughout the season, with the Club hosting well over 600 matches annually. The post-holder will work within an established system that includes close collaboration with a neighbouring veterinary practice, providing additional match cover, clinical support, and back-up as required.
In addition to match-day duties, the role includes overseeing and upholding the welfare of members’ and visiting players’ ponies, maintaining the highest standards of equine welfare at all times. Clear communication with players, grooms, officials, and Club staff is essential.
Applicants must be MRCVS and have experience in equine emergency care and/or providing veterinary cover at equestrian competitions, together with sound clinical judgement and a clear commitment to welfare.
This is a seasonal, full-time position running from April to September 2026. A competitive salary is offered, along with the provision of a vehicle and VDS insurance cover.
