Artemis Equine Vets is a new, progressive independent equine practice based in the beautiful Surrey countryside. As a small, close knit and hardworking team, finding the right fit is our top priority. We are seeking someone who values mentorship, teamwork and a healthy work–life balance, and who shares our strong commitment to excellent client service and patient care.
This role would suit someone with a keen interest in lameness and sport horse medicine, who is motivated to build confidence and develop more advanced clinical skills over time within a supportive environment. You will initially work in an assistant role with close clinical support, gradually developing your own caseload as you progress. Clinical independence is encouraged, while joint case work-ups and discussion are always available and welcomed. The caseload is a mix of sport horses and pleasure horses, with no out-of-hours work, allowing us to genuinely prioritise work–life balance.
There is the opportunity to be involved with the South of England Show Vet Team and scope to gain experience in FEI and event work, offering exposure to competition and performance medicine alongside clinical practice.
The practice operates from a purpose built clinic with excellent facilities, including an American barn with seven stables, stocks, solarium, horse walker, trot-up and sand school. We are fully equipped with mobile digital radiography, ultrasound, shockwave, Class IV laser, gastroscope, endoscope and orthobiologics. You will be assisted by fantastic support staff and work within a friendly, collaborative team that values high clinical standards and outstanding customer service.
We are looking for an equine veterinary surgeon who is MRCVS (or eligible), has excellent communication skills, and for whom client service and patient care are absolutely fundamental. You should be enthusiastic, keen to learn, and enjoy working as part of a team, with a genuine interest in performance and sport horse medicine.
In return, we offer excellent mentorship and structured support, a competitive salary with generous CPD allowance, BEVA, VDS and RCVS memberships paid, and long-term career development within a growing independent practice. We are truly invested in our people and believe that job satisfaction is instrumental to the success of our business.
