40 hours per week, Monday to Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm with 1 hour lunch, plus participation in an OOH rota (currently 1 in 6, subject to change)
Salary up to £33,000 DOE
A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate Equine Veterinary Nurse to join our RCVS Accredited Equine Hospital at Oakham Veterinary Hospital. You will play a key role in supporting our veterinary surgeons across a wide range of clinical and hospital duties, working within a fast paced environment where no two days are the same. From assisting with examinations and surgical procedures to providing exceptional inpatient care, you will be an integral part of delivering outstanding equine veterinary support.
The role offers exposure to a varied and interesting caseload, including diagnostic imaging, emergency cases, and general hospital care. You will be encouraged to develop your clinical skills while contributing to a collaborative and supportive team environment.

Oakham Veterinary Hospital Equine is a well established RCVS Accredited Equine Hospital, equipped with modern facilities to support both hospital based and ambulatory services. Our site includes inpatient stabling, advanced diagnostic equipment, and a fully equipped surgical suite, allowing us to provide a comprehensive range of equine veterinary services.

Applicant Requirements
We are looking for a qualified Equine Veterinary Nurse, or an individual with equivalent practical experience, who is confident handling a wide range of horses including competition horses and youngstock. You will be a proactive team player with strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to remain calm under pressure, particularly in emergency situations.
A flexible approach to working hours is essential, including participation in the out of hours rota. Strong communication skills and a commitment to delivering high quality patient and client care are key to success in this role.
