Equine Vet Opportunity – Dorset
Join a friendly and supportive 6-vet team in a beautiful part of the country.
We’re looking for a vet to join our equine-only team, replacing a much-loved colleague who’s moving on in the New Year. You’ll be stepping into a close-knit, experienced and collaborative team that genuinely enjoys working together.
The Role
- Predominantly ambulatory, first-opinion caseload with shared out-of-hours emergency cover on a 1-in-5 rota.
- A balance of routine and complex medical and surgical cases, supported by an equine nursing assistant and an outpatient clinic.
- You will be well supported by a friendly and efficient team, including out-of-hours nurses who take emergency calls, experienced receptionists who help keep your day running smoothly, and access to our in-house laboratory for quick and reliable diagnostics. All of this is part of the strength that comes from being part of a wider mixed practice.
What Makes Us Different?
- We foster a supportive culture where you will have true clinical freedom while always feeling part of a collaborative team. Our vets include certificate holders and colleagues with special interests in dentistry, orthopaedics, imaging, and internal medicine.
- We work closely with visiting specialists from Liphook Equine Hospital when additional expertise is needed.
- We genuinely value your work-life balance. Generous time off in lieu allows you to properly recharge and make the most of this beautiful part of the country, with the breathtaking Jurassic Coast right on our doorstep
What We’re Looking For
We would love to hear from a confident and approachable vet who enjoys building strong client relationships and is keen to develop their own clinical interests. Whether you are an experienced clinician or a confident recent graduate ready for your next step, we welcome your application.
Our Equipment
We are well-equipped with:
- Digital radiography
- Orthopaedic and reproduction ultrasound scanners
- High-quality endoscopy (including gastroscopy)
- Advanced dental equipment: Power burrs, Karl-Storz Oroscope, Pegasos extraction tools
- Sleip Equine Gait Analysis
