Council
The Association currently advises and liaises with Government on many domestic and European issues, tackles a wide range of topical veterinary and welfare subjects, and provides some of the best equine CPD available anywhere. Members of Council attend strategy and review meetings and are assigned to one or more Committees and will represent BEVA to the wider world.

Ben Mayes - President Ben is a partner at Mayes & Scrine Equine Veterinary Practice based in Sussex and is active both locally and nationally in taking the profession forward, representing the equine general practitioner, safeguarding the welfare of the horses and ponies and the interests of their owners. |

Keith Chandler- President Elect Keith is the senior partner at Kessock Equine Veterinary Clinic based in Inverness. His main interests are equine internal medicine, stud medicine and care of the geriatric horse. |

Deidre Carson - Senior Vice President Deidre is a partner at Rossdales in Newmarket and spends the majority of her time concentrating on stud and ambulatory work. |

Paul Jepson - Junior Vice President Paul recently retired as chief executive of the Horse Trust and now works as a veterinary advisor from his home in the New Forest. He has particular interests in farriery and the threat of exotic disease. |

Fran Henson - Honorary Secretary Fran is a lecturer in Equine Studies (Surgery) at the University of Cambridge. Her speciality is the pathophysiology of cartilage disease and cartilage repair. |

Roly Owers- Honorary Treasurer Roly is Chief Executive at World Horse Welfare and is based in Cambridge. He is closely involved in FEI welfare policy and chairs the Equine Disease Coalition Group. |

Henry Tremaine - Honorary Information Officer
Henry is the Senior Teaching Fellow in Equine Surgery at University of Bristol. His interests include equine upper respiratory tract disease, dentistry, wound management, and laparoscopic surgery. |

James Wood - Honorary Publications Officer
James is the Alborada Professor of Equine and Farm Animal Science at University of Cambridge and Director of Cambridge Infectious Diseases Consortium. His focus is veterinary epidemiology. |

Michael Sadlier Michael is a partner at Troytown Equine Hospital in Ireland. His interests are reproduction, foal and yearling development and orthopedic surgery, especially arthroscopy. |

Michael Crane Michael is Head of Welfare at The Donkey Sanctuary in Devon and has many years of equine clinical experience both in the UK and overseas. |

Lynn Hillyer Lynn is a Veterinary Officer in the Department of Equine Science and Welfare at The British Horseracing Authority based in London. Her specialities include competition medication and lameness. |

Vicki Nicholls Vicki is part of the equine veterinary team at Wright and Morten Veterinary Surgeons in Cheshire. She has special interest in equine anaesthesia and equine dentistry. |

Tim Mair Tim is a partner at Bell Equine Veterinary Hospital in Kent and is also the editor of Equine Veterinary Education. He is very interested in clinical research, currently focusing on MRI, colic, neoplasia and clinical audit. |
