The Role
We are seeking a fixed term full time Reproductive Veterinarian for the 2024 southern hemisphere breeding season. As part of our On Farm Service veterinarians you would provide both routine primary care and a 24-hour emergency service for equine patients throughout the Tamworth Region on farm and in-house. This role is diverse, and it is anticipated the successful applicant will be in our team before the 2024 breeding season.

The assisted reproductive services currently offered from our Tamworth location include fresh, chilled, and frozen semen insemination caseload in a mix of Australian Stock Horses, quarter horse, and sporthorse breeds. There is stallion training, semen collection on jump mare or dummy, chilled semen shipping, fertility investigations, an embryo transfer program with a fully equipped semen analysis laboratory.

Skills and Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of equine practice experience since graduation.
  • Must have a Bachelor of Veterinary Science or equivalent qualification that can be registered in New South Wales, Australia.
  • Experience in equine veterinary practice, routine stud medicine and reproductive management of the stallion and mare along with assisted reproduction skills.
  • Able to prioritise and work effectively within a team of vets and nurses.
