Ever get fed up with horses that are hard to inject or are just plain worried (scared)? Would you like to be able to make the whole experience of a horse seeing a vet (you!) less stressful and dangerous for all involved? Would you like to be able to get your owners on board with how they can help in an effective, humane way? 
Gemma Pearson is a renown equine vet with practical, effective and proven abilities to help you help the horse and owner. This is a course that will help all involved in equine veterinary work in their day to day handling of horses.

  • Develop an understanding of the processes through which horses learn
  • Develop an understanding of equine ethology and its significance to veterinary care
  • Learn practical skills in the application of learning theory to increase compliance and
    reduce stress when treating equines
  • Be able to confidently identify the warning signs that a horse may react adversely,
    reducing the likelihood of injury
  • Refresh your knowledge on how to determine if poor performance and unwanted
    ridden behaviours are due to pain, behaviour or both

  • Cancellation more than 6 weeks prior to the start of the course: A refund will be made less a 10% administrative charge.
  • Cancellation less than 6 weeks prior to the start of the course: No refunds can be guaranteed, but if BEVA can resell the place a refund will be made less a 20% administrative charge.
  • Transfer of Delegate: Booked places can be transferred to another person. If the transferee is not a BEVA Member he/she will be liable for the difference between the Member and Non-Member delegate rates.
  • Insurance: All delegates must have appropriate liability and professional indemnity insurance.
  • Safety: Delegates must bring appropriate safety wear (coveralls, hard hats, boots etc) to courses involving practical sessions.
  • Data Protection: I understand that BEVA may pass my details to the organisers or sponsors of the courses unless I have specified otherwise.
  • Compliance: I am a qualified to undertake the procedures being taught, or I am in training for such a qualification, in which case I will make the organisers aware of my status.
