This course focusses on diagnostic techniques for clinical or subclinical muscle conditions and how to manage them medically, nutritionally and with physiotherapy (incl. the use of therapeutic modalities). Day 2 of the course covers training and performance protocols aimed at preventing and managing muscle conditions in equine athletes. The practical sessions on live horses and specimens will include: Examination of the muscle system, acquisition of muscle biopsies, ultrasound of the back/pelvic muscles, applying therapeutic modalities & physiotherapy exercises. The course fee includes lunches at a restaurant, coffee/tea breaks, extensive electronic course notes and a certificate of attendance. On the evening of the first day all attendees are invited to attend the wine & cheese reception. Attendees can choose to onlyattend the lectures (= Lectures Only) on this course or can register for the entire course (= Lectures & Small Group Sessions).
