Job Description

Bourton Vale Equine Clinic is a 14-vet private 100% equine practice based in the Cotswolds with both a first-opinion and referral client base. The clinic is fully equipped with X-ray, ultrasound, scintigraphy and standing MRI facilities, and a surgical theatre. Caseload is dominated by racehorse, Sport Horse and stud populations.

An internship at Bourton Vale Equine Clinic boasts the opportunity to rapidly upskill in essential practical skills across the board, and the ability to manage both routine and less common cases.

Interns will work mainly under the direction of our ECVS-boarded surgeons. There is also an ambulatory component to the job, both working alongside senior veterinary surgeons and working independently on routine calls.

The successful candidate will be dynamic, ambitious and efficient; to fit in with a fast-paced and, most importantly, fun team.

‘Out of hours’ duties for emergency admissions and inpatient care are shared on a 1-in-2 rota. Four weeks’ paid holiday is permitted (20 days), with bank holidays in lieu. CPD allowance is 5 days. Accommodation is provided on-site in a shared detached new-build. For further information, the current interns will be happy to discuss the position.
