Experienced Vet - Tor Equine Vets - Devon

Vet
23 Apr 2024 BEVA

What makes Tor Equine vets different? We're listening to what the veterinary community wants from their job, we've already changed how we work and we are open to further change and development.

We're trying to address some of the issues that cause the most stress and burn out and create a job that people don't want to leave.

We have a hugely supportive admin team and we have built the following simple factors into our working day to help support our vets.

Driving time allocated to every visit.

Diarised lunch and rest breaks throughout the day.

Each vet gets an iPad and enough time allocated to each visit to be able to invoice your work and write your clinical notes.

Birthday day off.

We have weekly vet meetings to allow the whole group to discuss cases but we all regularly discuss challenges as we go along.

Tor Equine is a 4/5 vet independent practice based near Exeter and Newton Abbot, meaning outside of work you can explore and enjoy everything that Devon has to offer from stunning river walks, dramatic moors and beautiful beaches. Our caseload varies from 'Happy hacking' pleasure horses to 3* Eventers.

We do the veterinary work for a large equine charity which affords us an invaluable teaching and learning environment without the added pressures placed upon us by owners. This also allows us exclusive use of a full surgical suite for those with an interest in surgery or anaesthetics.

We have invested heavily in diagnostic equipment with one of the highlights being the Equinosis Q objective lameness locator - it's hard to overstate the difference this makes in helping with lameness and poor performance work ups.

We are looking for someone with at least 3+ years' experience to help balance the team and personality will be paramount in the successful candidate. We want someone who is self-motivated, organised and commercially minded with a passion to drive the business forwards with enthusiasm and fresh ideas. Being part of an independent practice allows more clinical freedom and the potential to influence how we work. We want to help develop any special interests and we will do everything that we can to support that growth including financial support for a certificate. Most of all we want someone who is eager to be part of our friendly, social team, to be part of our family, working in a relaxed environment. Being an equine vet is possibly one of the best jobs in the world as long as you're given time to enjoy it. This is what makes us different.
