About the course

Join us to gain invaluable, practical training to advance your skills in dental extractions and sinus surgery.

This course will provide detailed and up to date information about the pathophysiology, diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting the cheek teeth and paranasal sinuses in horses.

During the two days you will have ample opportunity to hone your surgical techniques using cadaver heads, benefiting from the small group size and the extensive practical guidance from a highly experienced team of speakers.

Throughout the course emphasis will be placed on the significance of diagnostic imaging, including discussions on case selection and the choice of imaging modalities. Additionally, the course will cover the intricacies of obtaining diagnostic radiographs of the head and sinuses.

The lectures, demonstrations and case discussions that will be presented have been specifically designed for established equine vets with a keen interest in dental and sinus surgery as well as dental and surgical residents.

What will I learn?

By the end of the course you will...
1. Have increased knowledge of the pathophysiology and diagnosis of dental and paranasal sinus diseases
2. Have radiographic skills for the investigation of dental and paranasal sinus disease in the field
3. Theoretically understand dental and sinus surgery
4. Have gained practical skills in basic sinoscopy (using cadavers)
5. Have gained practical skills in routine cheek tooth extraction (using cadavers)
