For the past year, veterinary practices all over the UK have been working hard to accumulate as many 4* and 5* reviews from their clients as possible on www.VetHelpDirect.com and www.Any-UK-Vet.co.uk. This year’s Best UK Vets 2017 overall winner is Penmellyn Vets, St Columb Major based in Cornwall.

This is a well-deserved win for Penmellyn Vets, who stormed to victory with an impressive lead of over 200 more qualifying reviews than their nearest rival, securing the highly coveted Best UK Vets 2017. Philip Harris, one of the partners at Penmellyn Vets said, “We are absolutely delighted to have won this award and want to say thank you to each and every one of our clients who took the time to leave a review.  And my thanks to the Penmellyn staff for their hard work and commitment to providing the outstanding customer service that has been recognised by this award. I couldn’t be more proud of them. We’re an independent practice and very traditional in many ways, so I think as we’ve grown as a group, with a goal of excellence always in patient care, our values have kept us grounded and very client-centric. We look forward to celebrating the award with our team at the awards ceremony in the coming weeks.”

The winners received 839 votes that easily secured their victory, reflecting the tremendous level of engagement that they have with their clients. This was reflected in the reviews left which include sentiments such as “Lovely caring friendly staff… brilliant high standards of care provided.”; “I have used this practice for all my pets over the years and always found them to be treated with utmost compassion and respect!” and “Excellent friendly attitude…our pet had been in for few days… he was looked after extremely well. We were able to call and check on his progress. Nothing is or was too much trouble. The after care and follow up appointments are excellent. Very happy with treatment and care received and definitely I would recommend Penmellyn.”

Penmellyn Vets have a lot to be proud of, as not only did their small animal team at the veterinary hospital in St Columb Major receive the top award but five of their other practices, including St Austell, Pool, Bodmin, Newquay, St Columb Major (Equine), were also featured in this year’s Best UK Vets Top 25 practices. The Equine team at St Columb Major also went on to win the award for this year’s Best Equine Vet.

Penmellyn Vets is an independent practice owned by six veterinary surgeons, who are all based in Cornwall. They have been providing veterinary care to the pets and horses of Cornwall for over 130 years. They still cover their own out of hours’ care and their services include preventative healthcare packages for their cat and dog-owning clients, ‘LifeCare’ and ‘LifeCare+’. The latter grants clients access to unlimited vet and nurse consultations 6 days a week – something that is currently only offered by Penmellyn Vets in Cornwall.

The top 25 veterinary practices were extended to include a 26th this year, due to two practices receiving equal numbers of 4* and 5* reviews. The final list of winners is:
