The EVA (Equine Veteriarians Australia) has reminded its members working in racing in metropolitan Sydney, that Racing NSW has today, 1 September 2015, implemented the new local rule of racing: LR82C.
This new rule requires that veterinarians who provide treatment to thoroughbred racehorses in training, are required to have a permit issued by Racing NSW. There is an exception to the rule where it is an emergency health and welfare treatment, and that a ‘permitted veterinarian’ is not available. For all other areas of NSW, LR82C will be implemented on 1 December 2015.
