The Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons (RCVS) is looking for a new Postgraduate Dean to help guide recently graduated veterinary surgeons through their Professional Development Phase (PDP).
The PDP is a structured self-assessment system for graduates in their first year or so of practice and the four current Postgraduate Deans are responsible for checking graduates’ progress, responding to queries, monitoring learning records and confirming completion of the phase.
Due to a recent increase in student numbers, the RCVS is now looking for a fifth Postgraduate Dean to make sure that a consistent level of support is available for every graduate.
The Postgraduate Dean will be expected to have a broad range of experience in general practice – including small animal and farm or mixed practice – as well as experience of advising students or supporting new graduates.
Those who are interested in applying should visit http://www.rcvs.org.uk/about-us/work-for-us/ to download the job description. A CV and covering letter needs to be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than 12 noon on Friday 2 May 2014.
