At a meeting of over 70 equine veterinarians in Sydney last night [Thursday 3rd April], there was unanimous agreement to reject Racing NSW’s veterinarian licence. With powerful presentations from Equine Veterinarians Australia (EVA) President Dr Frank Condon and AVA President Dr Ben Gardiner, the assembled group of EVA and AVA members were informed about the onerous and unacceptable conditions that the new licence would place on a veterinarian, and that the best course of action for an equine vet was to: “Say NO to a racing licence, and to let the NSW Premier know of your concerns, through your Local Member.”
EVA Members were informed that the NSW Parliament letter writing campaign was gaining excellent traction.
