A group at the RVC (David M. Bolt, Dr. med. vet., MS, FHEA, DACVS, DECVS, MRCVS and Vicky Simon BSc) is currently conducting a survey into how equine practitioners in the UK diagnose, treat and follow-up osteoarthritis of the distal tarsal joints (bone spavin) in their patients.

Bone spavin is still a very common reason for hind limb lameness in both competition and pleasure horses and the results of this study will contribute to an increased understanding of this condition.
