BEVA are reminding members to continue to keep an eye on the Animal Health Trust's Equiflunet for updates of confirmed cases of flu.
Outbreaks of equine influenza continue to be reported in the UK and Europe. So far all of the UK viruses that have been isolated and characterised at the AHT belong to Florida clade 1. In May 21 cases have been diagnosed, following 12 in April.
The AHT are urging horse owners to continue to be vigilant and take all necessary precautions to minimise the spread of the virus.
The latest updates are available on Equiflunet.
