The course will cover sedation and field anaesthesia required for common field surgery such as castration both in theory and in a practical session. Nerve blocks and regional anaesthesia for other common procedures will also be covered on cadavers.
In response to feedback from the 2018 / 19 Sedation, Field Anaesthesia an Castrations courses this has been relocated to World Horse Welfare's Glenda Spooner Farm for 2020, to increase the number of colts available. Full Course Programme
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, we are unable to run our normal CPD programme until June at the earliest. This means Fundamentals of Sedation, Field Anaesthesia and Castrations will not take place on 23-24 March 2020.
All affected delegates, speakers and sponsors have been notified with more information and the next steps. We will continue to keep delegates fully informed in the coming days and let you know how to claim a refund. Please bear with us whilst we work through the necessary steps.
During the outbreak we will be doing what we can to support our members and would welcome your thoughts on how best we could help you.
The course is designed for young vets, it is part of our Fundamentals programme. It would also be suitable for those who want to refresh their knowledge.
Our partners support our annual CPD programme, helping us to deliver some of the best equine veterinary CPD in the world.
