To mark the opening of the redeveloped Curragh racecourse on the first day of the Summer Irish Derby Racing Festival Veterinary Ireland and BEVA have organised a day CPD meeting with International speakers followed by an optional reception at the racecourse in the evening during racing.

COURSE SPEAKERS
Dr. Vivian Gath MVB, BSc, H dip, PhD lecturer and assistant Professor, School of Veterinary Medicine, UCD is a leading nutritional expert in Farm animal production and equine performance.

Dr. Scott Morrison DVM, graduate of Veterinary Medicine and graduate of Eastern School of Farriery and head of Rood and Riddle Podiatry department.

Lewis Smith BVetMed, CertES(Orth), DESTS, DipECVS, FRCVS, a European Specialist in Equine Surgery, an RCVS Fellow and partner in Rossdales and partners in Newmarket.

The Osprey Hotel is approximately 26 miles from Dublin airport easily accessible by car or bus.

COURSE FEES
BEVA Members £105 (Vet Ireland Member €120)
Non-members £210 (€240)
Farriers can attend for BEVA Member rates. Please call the BEVA office to book this.

Optional Hospitality £67 (€75)
This includes entry to the racecourse, race card, two course evening meal plus tea and coffee. Transport to and from the racecourse to the Osprey Hotel is also included.

ACCOMMODATION
A limited number of rooms have been reserved at the Osprey Hotel, the costs are:
£130 for a double room
£120 for a single room
Accommodation will need to be booked directly with the Osprey Hotel using the reference: Veterinary Ireland.

  • Cancellation more than 6 weeks prior to the start of the course: A refund will be made less a 10% administrative charge.
  • Cancellation less than 6 weeks prior to the start of the course: No refunds can be guaranteed, but if BEVA can resell the place a refund will be made less a 20% administrative charge.
  • Transfer of Delegate: Booked places can be transferred to another person. If the transferee is not a BEVA Member he/she will be liable for the difference between the Member and Non-Member delegate rates.
  • Insurance: All delegates must have appropriate liability and professional indemnity insurance.
  • Safety: Delegates must bring appropriate safety wear (coveralls, hard hats, boots etc) to courses involving practical sessions.
  • Data Protection: I understand that BEVA may pass my details to the organisers or sponsors of the courses unless I have specified otherwise.
  • Compliance: I am a qualified to undertake the procedures being taught, or I am in training for such a qualification, in which case I will make the organisers aware of my status.
