A Practical Masterclass in Breeding Soundness Evaluation

This one day practical course provides practitioners with a unique opportunity to practically perform start to finish breeding soundness examinations of the mare and stallion alongside experts from around the World. The course will be held in an informal and instructive atmosphere in excellent facilities enabling hands on teaching and discussion of the techniques performed. Delegates will be involved in the process and will be able to discuss elements of the examination with the experts as the examinations evolve. Small groups will allow plenty of opportunity for all delegates to be fully involved. An end of day discussion forum will bring together all of the cases allowing sharing of experiences and opinions.

Key Learning Objectives:
• Develop a better understanding of clinically relevant reproductive physiology
• Refresh/update your knowledge on the breeding soundness examination of the mare and stallion
• Enhance/learn practical skills in clinical evaluation of the equine reproductive tract
• More confidently be able to identify abnormalities in the male and female reproductive tract that would impact on future breeding potential of an individual
• Improved interpretation of ultrasound assessment of the male and female reproductive organs.

  • Cancellation more than 6 weeks prior to the start of the course: A refund will be made less a 10% administrative charge.
  • Cancellation less than 6 weeks prior to the start of the course: No refunds can be guaranteed, but if BEVA can resell the place a refund will be made less a 20% administrative charge.
  • Transfer of Delegate: Booked places can be transferred to another person. If the transferee is not a BEVA Member he/she will be liable for the difference between the Member and Non-Member delegate rates.
  • Insurance: All delegates must have appropriate liability and professional indemnity insurance.
  • Safety: Delegates must bring appropriate safety wear (coveralls, hard hats, boots etc) to courses involving practical sessions.
