book iconAbout the Course

Held in conjunction with Osberton International Horse Trials, this year this course will be helping you fine tune performance - both yours under pressure and the sports horse. We will look at specific emergencies, how to work more effectively and give you tips for making decisions under pressure. You will learn how to remain calm and triage the acutely lame horse and transport it off course in the optimum way.

An all-encompassing course with highly experienced speakers, this is a must for all those interested or currently working at horse trials or other equine events. Learn and discuss practical tips associated with getting the best out of sports horses. Find out how to manage a major incident such as a fire at the stables. Find out how doctors will be managing human trauma and how they approach injuries on the course. It will be based outdoors on Osberton cross country course or in a marquee. The afternoon practical session will provide hands on training for a variety of incidents involving horse and rider on XC.

Lots practical advice, it was super useful. The speakers were all really good presenters and really easy to listen to and therefore learn from.
