Part of the BEVA Fundamentals series this day course will discuss the common gastro-intestinal conditions seen in general practice. Emphasis will be on using history and clinical examination to help determine the best diagnostic approach driven by evidence-based medicine.
A day discussing the common gastro-intestinal conditions seen in general practice. Emphasis will be on using history and clinical examination to help determine the best diagnostic approach driven by evidence-based medicine. Knowledge will be consolidated using case scenarios. There will be some demonstrations of practical techniques.Please note, delegates must bring photo ID with them on the day, you will not be allowed in the venue without it. The Army have also requested delegate details and car registration numbers 72 hours before the course for security reasons. Therefore, no bookings will be accepted for this course after 1.00pm on Friday 20th September.Delegates need to bring clean overalls and boots and they will he expected to walk through a foot dip. Delegates will also need a hard hat without a soft cover.
• Gain confidence in your knowledge on common and important gastro-intestinal disorders• Confidently be able to perform assessment of a horse with abdominal pain• Describe the clinical management of horses with diarrhoea• Understand how to implement appropriate isolation in the practice and in the field• Describe indications for recommending/ performing gastroscopy and current guidelines on management of gastric disease• How to confidently create a worming programme
