Joint Injections, Joint Infections

21 Nov 2018 - 21 Nov 2018
16:45 - 20:15

Rossdales LLP,
NEWMARKET,
CB8 8JS

This East Anglian regional meeting is focused on two perpetual problems in equine practice, complications of joint medication and the modern approaches to infections that involve joints. What do we know in an evidence-based context about the complications when we perform intra-articular medications? What are the most common microbes that invade the joint causing infection? If you know your foe you are more likely to be able to eliminate them. The evening will round up with responsible treatment of joint infections based on the microbes that are likely to be causative agents and how practitioners can be pro-active about infection and still follow antimicrobial stewardship guidelines.
