book iconAbout the Course

This course will provide a grounding in Internal Medicine. The format utilised will use pre-learning an essential part of the course with recorded lectures and then a more practical and small group approach to learning on the day. This will allow a far more informal and hands on learning experience for each delegate with the group of experienced medicine clinicians.

An overview of a number of topics will take place from pyrexia of unknown origin, the collapsed and neurological horses, coughing horses and how to deal with infectious disease outbreaks.

Practical sessions will cover how to undertake guttural pouch endoscopy, tracheal washes, bronchoalveolar lavage and cardiac auscultation. Interactive case scenarios will present biosecurity issues, clinical pathology and interpretation of respiratory samples.
