Part of our Fundamentals programme aimed at new and recent graduates this course will provide a grounding in Internal Medicine. The format utilised will use pre-learning as an essential part of the course, with recorded lectures and then a more practical and small group approach to learning on the day. This will allow a far more informal and hands on learning experience for each delegate with the group of experienced medicine clinicians. An overview of a number of topics will be given including pyrexia of unknown origin, the collapsed and neurological horses, coughing horses and how to deal with infectious disease outbreaks. Practical sessions will cover how to undertake guttural pouch endoscopy, tracheal washes, bronchoalveolar lavage and cardiac auscultation. Interactive case scenarios covering a range of clinical cases including endocrine and neurological cases.
Excellent, really useful providing essential skills to equine practitioners as well as gems of information for new grad GPs.
