Job Description

The Practice:​

Based in the beautiful Adelaide Hills is  Hahndorf ,the practice offers a diverse mix of equine clients including thoroughbred & standardbred racing and breeding clients ,sport and pleasure horse clients. The practice has a fully functioning equine surgery and carries out both soft tissue and orthopaedic surgeries. The practice also runs a small animal clinic  that runs a desexing clinic and small animal consulting and  general surgical facility.

Digital radiography ,videoendoscopy, ultrasonography, shockwave therapy and an  in-house laboratory are available for use in  both arms of the practice.

Access to equine dynamic overground endoscopy and treadmill endoscopy are also included in the clinics diagnostics.

Position:

• The position can be designed to suit the individual, with equine opportunities to gain extensive experience in lameness examination, diagnostic imaging in the performance horse,  care of orthopaedic and soft tissue surgical cases ,management of medical colic cases and reproduction work including AI. The small animal component would be ideal for recent graduates to be allowed access to numerous desexing cases or the more experienced practitioner to drive this component in any area of interest. Thus it would be suitable for recent graduates or experienced practitioners and would be tailored to the individual’s interests.

• After hours duties would consist of 1 night per week and 1 weekend in  4 (equine only).

• Remuneration would be experience and post graduate qualification based however, is above award.(package of 70-110K AUD p.a)  Phone, car , CPD, and after hour bonuses come as standard practice policy.
