Job Description

The available position would be suited to a veterinarian with thoroughbred reproduction experience alongside a variety of developed skills in general ambulatory work. Our workload encompasses all aspects of a busy equine clinic and stud medicine including; reproduction, anaesthesia, internal  medicine, dentistry, lameness and surgery.  

During the breeding season the successful applicant would be responsible for reproductive work on thoroughbred farms as well as scanning of resident AI mares.  

Dartbrook Equine Veterinary Clinic is a fully equipped equine hospital & first-opinion practice located on 15 acres in the town of Scone, the horse capital of Australia. It is a growing practice of full time and seasonal veterinarians, a consultant surgeon, and 8 support personnel including a laboratory  technician, qualified nurses and experienced administration staff. 

Our clients are predominantly Thoroughbred Stud farms, but we have a growing sport and companion horse caseload. 

Our facilities are equipped with a portable digital x-ray machine, video and fibreoptic endoscopy (with access to dynamic endoscopy and gastroscopy), portable ultrasound and shock wave. We have a young, energetic team and pride ourselves on client communication and education.

The applicant would be required to start Mid-January 2019 and will be provided with a fully equipped car, phone and  accommodation and participate in an out of hours roster.  Further details are available on application.  

Salary is commensurate with the experience of the Applicant. All applicants are required to be eligible for Registration by the Veterinary Practitioners Board of New South Wales.
