Job Description

We are a 4 man (actually 1 man, 2 women and 1 vacancy) purely equine practice based in North Cheshire. The work is mainly ambulatory but with good clinic facilities where we encourage as high a degree of diagnostic work as possible. We mainly deal with leisure horses but this ranges from much loved retired geriatrics to advanced event horses.

We have portable wireless direct digital radiography , Equinosis lameness detector, portable ultra sound including cardiac, telemetric ECG, endoscope, gastroscope and a small in house lab, though we also use Rainbow and Liphook for more lab work.

If you look at the rest of the website brownmossequineclinic.co.uk you can see more about our facilities.

We are a very friendly team who meet every morning and most afternoons to sort out who is doing what, discuss cases and support each other.

We are normally finished by 5pm when the office closes but obviously flexibility is needed. The rota is 1 in 3 weekends plus 1 night per week. A car is provided but no accommodation. Cpd is all funded and development encouraged.

We are only 30 minutes from Leahurst (University of Liverpool Equine Hospital) and have a very good relationship with them, sending surgical cases (especially colics) We also use Oakhill referrals for more advanced diagnostic work including MRI. In addition we also use visiting experts in advanced dentistry and medicine when needed.

What we need
Enthusiasm, Enthusiasm, Enthusiasm!
An ability to talk to and understand horsey clients. This will probably come from a background in horses.
The confidence and skill to work alone but also enjoy working as part of a team.
Someone who will come up with ideas to help the practice move forward and have the drive to carry these ideas through.

If this sounds like you and like the idea of joining us then please send your cv to vets@brownmossequineclinic.co.uk or by post to Brown Moss Equine Clinic, Norley Road Norley Cheshire WA6 6LJ
