Job Description

The position will include block wise rotations through between medicine, anesthesia and imaging. The daily responsibilities include physical examinations of horses in the hospital, medical treatments, changes of bandages, assisting the veterinarians with procedures, preparation of laboratory samples, preparing patients for surgery and assisting with anesthesia, obtaining radiographs and so much more. Afterhours work will be divided between the 3-4 trainees and will include evening treatments, anesthesia and assisting the on-duty veterinarian with emergencies at the hospital. There will be no off-site work.  
Semi-weekly journal clubs and topic rounds will be provided for continued education during the fall and winter periods. Participation in national meetings with equine focus will be encouraged. 
The hospital offers many imaging modalities including MRI, Scintigraphy, digital radiography, ultrasound, airway and oral endoscopy and gastroscopy. We have 1 surgery suite which runs on average 3-4 surgeries daily, a fully equipped hospital with a neonatal department and intensive care facilities. The field practice has 4-5 veterinarians on the road daily and covers a large spectrum of cases daily. The hospital also includes a reproduction ward, which amongst other things offers standard repro work, as well as oocyte aspiration and embryo transfers. Our rehabilitation ward includes treadmills, with and without water, as well as spa and laser therapy for injury related care. On staff, we have ISELP certificate holders, as well as a board certified large animal internist (DACVIM). 

As the responsibilities as a trainee will not include any primary case responsibilities with direct owner communication, knowledge of the Danish language is not considered a requirement. However, we do require the ability to communicate fully in English, in both oral and written format. European citizenship is mandatory due to the requirement of the work permit.
We have accommodation on site for all trainees with shared kitchen and bathroom.
