Job Description

We can offer an 18-month ambulatory internship with exposure to a variety of work including supporting the vet team at international competitions.  

Our team of experienced vets work within a wide range including Racing, FEI and National competition cover, GB team and World Class roles as well as a variety of equine clinical work with our loyal clients. The internship will be hard work, however after initial 3 month induction reduces to a 5 days working week and provide a great opportunity to develop your skills in a supportive environment to start you off in your career in sports medicine.  We have a fantastic team who enjoy having fun and have a wealth experience between us that we are keen to share.  The role will differ from your traditional internships in that without a hospital we don’t have the need for anaesthesia or nuclear scintigraphy so no standing around for hours.  

The role will be based around accompanying the vets and working under supervision with them undertaking primarily lameness work ups and diagnostics utilising our portable equipment, in addition you will undertake basic routine appointments on your own to help develop your client interaction and interpersonal skills.   Our caseload is varied including performance horse work whilst also including routine equine work so will provide a solid foundation for your future career. Salary depending on experience, new graduates considered but some prior experience beneficial, flat on site provided, start date end March /early April 2020.
