Job Description

The successful candidate will join a large and experienced team in our Equine Hospital which accepts referrals from all over Ireland as well as providing diagnostic and surgical back up to the TTGA ambulatory team. The hospital is well equipped to deal with all general, orthopaedic and colic surgery. There are also facilities for standing laproscopy and transendoscopic laser procedures.  There is a full range of diagnostic equipment including digital radiography, ultrasonography, videoendoscopy, standing MRI, scintigraphy, overground and treadmill endoscopy.

It is a busy hospital with a high case throughput. As we are in the heart of the thoroughbred breeding and racing industry this provides the backbone of our caseload. However there is a significant sport and leisure horse throughput in the hospital.

The successful candidate would be primarily based at the hospital with some cases being dealt with out on farms. There will be significant opportunity to work and develop skills in all areas of diagnostic work up and surgical treatment. The surgical rota will be shared amongst four surgeons and there is a significant backup team.

TTGA is part of CVS (UK) Ltd., the UK's largest provider of integrated veterinary services with approximately 450 clinics across UK, Netherlands and Ireland. Collaborative work and research projects with other equine practices in the equine division of CVS are encouraged.
