BEVA Trust ; Assisting the association achieve its mission to :-

• To promote the veterinary and allied sciences in relation to the welfare of the horse
• To provide facilities for the exchange of ideas on the health and diseases of the horse.
• To encourage research into equine problems
• To foster the collection, widening and publication of world literature on the veterinary and allied sciences in relation to the horse.
• To co-operate with national and international bodies interested in the promotion of the veterinary and allied sciences in relation to the horse.

Background

The BEVA Trust was established in 1966 to provide a mechanism for giving strategic support to the association and its members. This support has been given to diverse activities including:

• Sponsorship of CPD/training courses for veterinarians, nurses, farriers and dental technicians;
• Provision of over 70 travel scholarships to both veterinary students and recently graduated veterinarians;
• Production of quality information leaflets , web-based sources and booklets for horse owners;
• Sponsorship for annual awards to author(s) of outstanding scientific papers within the Equine Veterinary Journal;
• Funding travel of international experts to speak at BEVA Congress, courses and meetings;
• Annual support of invited speakers at the World Equine Veterinary Association meetings in developing countries.
• Sponsorship of the biennial Sir Frederick Hobday and Sir Frederick Smith lectures;
