Student stewarding at BEVA Congress is open to all veterinary students but you can’t attend BEVA Congress as a student steward until the end of your third year (BEVA Congress is always in September). If you are interested it is advisable to apply well in advance, however, priority is always given to end of fourth year students and you must be a BEVA student member to apply.
Student stewarding is hard work but also lots of fun, as a student steward at BEVA Congress you get:
-
Registration
-
Travel
-
Accommodation
-
Food
-
Social events
-
and you get to keep the t shirt and sweat shirt too!
In addition to the lectures you can attend (subject to your stewarding duties permitting), you can make contact with luminaries in the veterinary profession. Tales of student stewards being offered jobs and work experience as a direct result of their attending Congress are not apocryphal, they are true!
If you would like to be considered for Congresss 2009 (Birmingham) please contact Professor Derek Knottenbelt.
