COURSE LIMITED TO 12 DELEGATES PER DAY
Description:

The course is suitable for all levels of veterinarians in general and specialist equine practice. Each delegate will attend for one of the practical days (15th May or 16th May allocated on a first come first served basis); all delegates will attend the lecture evening on the 15th May. The main aim of this course is to teach effective gastroscopy via direct “hands on” small group instruction (max 4 per group).

Gastroscopy should allow visualisation of the squamous and glandular mucosa, pyloric outflow and proximal duodenum, all in less than 15 minutes. A thorough technique is vital as small lesions are easily missed and there is no association between squamous and glandular ulceration. You will be taught all the tricks and failure to reach the pylorus will not be an option! An evening of lectures will review the aetiology and treatment of equine gastric ulceration syndrome, provide case management examples and allow time for clinical discussion.

Suitable for RCVS Module:C-E 1 Gastrointestinal disease and intensive care
